Irish Red Ryle Ale No. I

My first attempt at an Irish Red, this time with some raw Vallegrandino rye for added character.

Details:
Batch Size (L): 5
Total Fermentables (kg): 1.011
Anticipated OG: 1.047
Wort Boil Time: 60 Minutes
Anticipated IBU: 25.1

Fermentables:
700 g (69%) Pilsener Malt
260 g (26%) Flaked rye
41 g (4%) Roasted Barley
10 g (1%) Black patent malt

Boil:
3 g Palisade hops @ 60 mins
3 g Palisade hops @ 30 mins
3 g Palisade hops @ 5 mins

Yeast:
Munton’s Dry Yeast

Notes:
-Brewed August 5, 2012. OG: 1.034
-Bottled August 29, 2012. FG 1.013
-Why the low original gravity? Why the terrible efficiency? I think I need to use a different mash to get the most of out the rye.
