Appearance: Amber to light brown, clear, a one-finger head that sticks around
Aroma: Hint of dried stone fruits and alcohol.
Taste: raisin, slightly sweet but not overly so, maybe just a bit of a soapy taste in there. I try to distinguish the molasses (miel de caña), but it’s buried deep if it’s there.
Drinkability: Lots of body, warming sensation as it goes down, highly carbonated.
Notes/Conclusions: Overall a decent first attempt, I think. It’s too light-colored and the taste isn’t overly complex. Perhaps it’s time to try something new with the next attempt. I’m thinking either fruit included, or perhaps even the discs of minimally processed chocolate widely available in the markets here. Generally, it just needs to be a bit more interesting.
